Bowood House and Gardens

Dyrham
Park
Dyrham Park is a treasure to enjoy; set in a dramatic deer park
on the edge of the stunning Cotswold escarpment, near the World
Heritage Site City of Bath. Explore how fashions changed over
the centuries, from the original 17th-century Dutch-inspired
interiors and formal gardens, to the very different style of
Victorian country squire Colonel Blathwayt. The elegant garden is a
more recent restoration, recreating the spirit of what had been
lost.

Longleat House
Widely regarded as one of the best examples of high Elizabethan

House
Granted by Henry VIII to Sir William Herbert in 1544, the

Westonbirt
Arboretum
Founded in 1829 by Robert Stayner Holford of Westonbirt House.
In 1956 the Forestry Commission acquired Westonbirt and opened it
to the general public. It is one of the finest and largest
collections of temporate trees and shrubs in the world, with over
15,000 specimens set in 600 acres of semi-natural and landscaped
woodland. In June to September the Westonbirt Arboretum will host
Britain's first-ever International Festival of Gardens.

Avebury
Manor and Gardens
An establishment of monastic origins, the present buildings
dates from early 16th century with Queen Anne alterations and
Edwardian renovations. The gardens are of an Edwardian style and
features much topiary.

Corsham Court

Stourhead
The jewel in the Stourhead crown has to be the world-famous
18th-century landscape garden. A magnificent lake shimmering with

Clevedon Court
Home to the lords of the manor of Clevedon for centuries, the
core of the house is a remarkable survival from the medieval
period. The house was purchased by Abraham Elton in 1709 and it is

The Courts Garden
Full of variety, this charming garden shows the English country

Prior
Park
One of only four Palladian bridges of this design in the world
can be crossed at Prior Park, which was created in the 18th century
by local entrepreneur Ralph Allen, with advice from 'Capability'
Brown and the poet Alexander Pope. The garden is set in a sweeping
valley where visitors can enjoy magnificent views of Bath. A
five-minute walk leads to the Bath Skyline, a six-mile circular
route encompassing beautiful woodlands and meadows, an Iron Age
hill fort, Roman settlements, 18th-century follies and spectacular
views.
