Exclusively Green is an ongoing commitment
for all properties across the Exclusive Hotels Group. Here are just
some of the initiatives currently in place at the Manor House.
Energy
Energy consumption is a major contributor to our Carbon
Footprint, and we have been in a contract with Bizz Energy who
supply the Manor House Golf Club with 100% green energy since
October 2007.
All fully implemented within the Carbon Trust Report Guidelines
following a full report provided by their visit.
- All mains electricity and gas purchased is from 100% renewable
supplies
- Energy saving and low voltage light bulbs have been installed
throughout Exclusive Hotels
- Timer switches and movement sensors are used for light switches
wherever appropriate
- All non essential computers are switched off when not in use
instead of being left on standby .
Recycling
A large amount of recycling goes on at our hotel and golf
club. This includes glass, paper, cardboard and printer
cartridges.
- Pennyhill Park Hotel has implemented a "Co-Mingled" recycling
initiative which allows us to recycle all of the above as well as
plastics, polystyrene, tin, Tetra packs and Clingfilm - an
initiative which will be introduced to the Manot House in the
coming months
- One of our other properties is currently trialing a system that
allows us to provide purified drinking water in re-usable bottles
reducing the number of bottles entering the waste stream by 18,000
per year and this is due to be implemented at the Manor House very
soon
Food and drink
All our Chefs and Kitchen teams are totally committed to
supporting Food Heroes, an Exclusive Hotels initiative to promote
and work with local suppliers, so that they can source the very
best seasonal produce in and around their immediate area and
develop excitingly varied menus.
- Fairtrade and Rain Forest Alliance certified tea, coffee and a
selection of Fairtrade and Organic wines are available at all the
properties

Home grown
We have created a wonderful Kitchen Garden producing a wide
variety of seasonal and organic vegetables and herbs produce for
our chefs.
- This guarantees fresh ingredients from ground to plate in a
matter of an hour or two.
- Our hen house produces fresh eggs every day
- We also have a green waste compost policy from gardens and
kitchen
Materials and
equipment
All paper and disposable products sourced by the hotel are from
recycled and/or renewable sources including our brochures and
promotional materials.
- All new plastic containers are made from PET plastics where
possible
- Priority is given to 'green suppliers' such as carbon neutral
wine suppliers, stationery providers, etc
- All recent renovation projects at the hotel incorporate new
energy saving technologies such as ground source heat pumps, water
aerators and LED lighting
